Does this replace my RMM?
No. Beakn sits alongside your RMM. Your RMM remediates; Beakn reports. The agent is lightweight and read-only on the endpoint: no policies, no scripts, no shells.
What data actually leaves the endpoint?
Patch state (installed, pending, failed with Windows Update error codes), pending reboot state, installed software inventory from the registry, and system metadata (OS version, hostname, agent version). No user data, no file contents, no keystrokes, no process lists.
How does the agent authenticate?
Each payload includes two headers: an MSP-scoped API key and a machine GUID generated at install time. The API key is bcrypt-hashed at rest with a separate peppered lookup index, and the machine GUID is bound to a client on first enrollment. Unknown machine IDs get a generic 401; we don't leak enumeration signal.
Can I trial this on real client machines safely?
Yes. The agent is read-only. It reads Windows Update, registry uninstall keys, and pending-reboot indicators. It does not modify patches, installs, or system state. Uninstall is a clean MSI removal.
How is pricing billed?
Flat monthly subscription by plan. Each plan includes a set number of endpoints and clients. Pick the tier that fits your volume. Upgrade anytime; we prorate. Annual billing on Pro and above saves ~17%.
What does "insurer-ready" actually mean?
Cyber insurers are moving from annual questionnaires to continuous evidence. Beakn produces signed, timestamped PDFs with per-client posture history. The same artifact you send your clients doubles as underwriter evidence at renewal. Scale plan adds a read-only insurer share link.
Is there a Mac or Linux agent?
Windows first. That's where the patch-compliance problem lives for most MSP books. Mac and Linux are on the roadmap and gated on design-partner demand. Email us if you need them. We prioritize by request volume.
What's your data retention policy?
Raw scan payloads: 13 months rolling. Generated reports: 7 years (to match insurance retention norms). Deletable on MSP request at any time. Data is stored in Supabase (Postgres + encrypted object storage), US-East by default.
